YIELD: 16 sticks
PORTION (Serving Size): 1 stick
1. Preheat the deep fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Slice the block of Pepper Jack cheese into 1/2 inch thick slices and then cut each slice into sticks roughly the size of your pinky finger so they are approximately 4 inches long by 1/2 inch thick on each side and you have 16 sticks. Place the cheese sticks in a container and coat them on all sides with the 3 tablespoons of CHA! by Texas Pete®.
3. Lay the slices of Black Forest ham on a clean work surface. Place 1 cheese stick onto each slice of ham and roll them up tightly like mini burritos.
4. Set up a breading station starting with the flour, eggs, then the breadcrumbs. Begin breading the ham wrapped cheese sticks starting with a dip into the seasoned flour, then into the beaten eggs, then a coating of the seasoned breadcrumbs. Dip the breaded cheese sticks into the beaten eggs one more time and then into the breadcrumbs again so they are double coated.
5. Place the 1 cup of marinara sauce into a small sauce pot and bring to a simmer. Add the CHA! by Texas Pete® and keep the marinara sauce warm.
6. Place the double breaded ham wrapped cheese sticks into the deep fryer and fry them for approximately 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, crispy and fully cooked with an internal temperature of 155 degrees has been reached. Do not fry them too long or the cheese will ooze out and you will end up with hollow cheese sticks.
7. Arrange the Jack Ham’r Sticks on a serving platter with a ramekin of the spicy CHA! marinara and serve.
