YIELD: 12 wings with 1 1/2 cups glaze PORTION (Serving Size): 1 wing with glaze
Preheat the deep fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Pour the 12 ounces of Cheerwine® into a small saucepot and reduce by 1/2. Once reduced, add the cherry pie filling and the barbeque sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add the Texas Pete® Hot Sauce. Place this mixture into a blender and puree until smooth. Set aside and begin cooking the chicken wings.
Carefully place the chicken wings into the deep fryer and fry them for approximately 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, crispy and fully cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Remove them from the fryer and drain well. Season wings with salt and pepper and place them into a large mixing bowl. Toss them with the Texas Pete® and Cheerwine® Cherry Bomb Barbeque glaze. Serve immediately.
