The TW Garner Food Company is a privately owned company whose heritage dates back to 1929 and the commitment of four brothers to serving quality sauces to their retail and foodservice customers.
Originating as the Dixie Pig restaurant at Winston-Salem, North Carolina’s fledgling airport, the business could not overlook customers’ requests for sauces that could be delivered to their homes, bought at supermarkets, and available at other restaurants. First made on their home’s kitchen stove, then at a small production facility, the Texas Pete® brand became a reality.
Today, under the leadership of fourth-generation Garners, Texas Pete® is one of America’s leading condiment brands in foodservice, retail, and industrial applications. Still based in Winston-Salem, the company offers a variety of sauce, salsa, and tortilla strip products under the Texas Pete® and Green Mountain Gringo® brands.
The Texas Pete® brand features a full line of hot sauces, wing sauces, honey mustard sauce, cocktail sauce, Fiery Sweet Sauce, and salsa. CHA! by Texas Pete® Sriracha Sauce and ¡Sabor! by Texas Pete® Mexican-Style Hot Sauce are other products under the Texas Pete® name. Green Mountain Gringo® Salsa and Tortilla Strips are top items within the all-natural category, and they are both gluten-free and non-GMO-verified.
From new offices and a culinary test facility in downtown Winston-Salem, to a modern production facility on Indiana Avenue, the company markets its brands worldwide through a network of brokers, distributors, and its own sales organization.
Garner Foods offers its products in a variety of packaging for the convenience of its customers, including portion control packets (PCs), plastic and glass bottles, resealable plastic gallon jugs, totes, and even tankers.
Its foodservice division provides culinary, merchandising, marketing, social media, and advertising support to assure the success of its retail, foodservice, and industrial customers. The company is the leading provider of gram-size portion control packets to foodservice. New technology has resulted in PCs that can maintain a three-year shelf life for the U.S. military and other customers requesting them. The company serves national, regional, and independent commercial and non-commercial clients, including K-12, college and university, healthcare, lodging, and business and industry.
With ample capabilities and a dedication to growth, the company is entrepreneurial in its focus on future products, alliances, and markets. From the days of the Dixie Pig to today’s iconic Texas Pete® cowboy, the company’s promise is to deliver quality flavor in almost any form.
